Left at 11 and got the metro and went up Pingjiang lu with Jake and had a hot choc and cake in the "Postcards to the Future" shop and posted cards right up until June, then went further up Pingjing Lu and found a lovely hidden courtyard full of all sorts of shops.
Went round the corner to the Suzhou Museum designed by I M Pei (who designed the Louvre Pyramid) lovely museum and no queues today so it was a lovely visit. Whilst there I had an Earl Grey tea in a glass massive leaves and not strainer. Tried to drink it but kept eating tea leaves and they are not really that nice so had to drink it with a straw, first time for everything.
Went down Pingjiang Lu and met Michael, walked back up Pingjiang Lu and went for a boat ride on the canal, went for dinner in a cafe by the side of the canal ....Walked back down Pingjiang lu with Jake
Metro was heaving, no taxis so walked an hour back to apartment.........a lovely warm day , moon bright on walk back. It was a lovely evening, moon bright and lights of all the buildings shining and saw things I had not seen in Suzhou before so walking was good.
Then a chat with Sam and Charlie and watched Wales beat Italy via lap top on a chair with Sam at home and Skype.the wonders of modern technology lol.
In comparison to you we lead a relatively boring life. We had to go down to Cardiff twice this week for meetings and therefore bought an "Explore Wales" Ticket which makes you feel like a tourist since you get a map of Wales and a booklet with all sorts of tourist attractions at the same time. We had a farewell party for a colleague as well which was really good fun.
ReplyDeleteWe came back yesterday and are now absolutely shattered. I like your water cooler, looks very professional. You could invite your whole school for a water party. Thanks for your lovely pictures and the e-mail.
All the best
